 After a two year period of building, the Wintersport Tirol AG & Co Stubaier Bergbahnen KG, better known as Stubaier Gletscherbahn went into service in 1973 for the first time. The glacier is an all year round ski resort and at a height of 1,750 - 3,333m snow is more than guaranteed. The highest peak on the Stubai Glacier is the ‘Zuckerhütl’ at 3,507m. Skiers can go up as far as 3,200m and from there enjoy the breath taking view of the surrounding mountains. The ski resort around the Schaufelspitze is continually being expanded not only technically but also in respect of services.
One of the various activities offered in the area is ICECLIMBING! STUBAI BERGSPORT, STUBAI GLACIER (Stubaier Gletscherbahnen) and the mountain guides of STUBAI ALPIN are prosecuting a wonderful ICECLIMBING TOWER at the Gamsgarten. Both beginners and professionals are welcome!
